A Simple Dream Catcher

I haven’t had that much time for crafting lately, unfortunately. But yesterday I tackled a few small projects that I’ve had sitting around for a while! This was such a simple but fun project! :) It was also cheap! I used some Caron Simply Soft that I already had + a wood embroidery hoop, which I painted. I used the tassels at the bottom to cover up the closure thingy on the hoop. I really just threw this together so I feel like it still needs something. I’m thinking of redoing the web to add beads or something. What do you think?

Have you ever made a dream catcher? Would you like a tutorial on how to make one?

  1. I would love a tutorial on this, Julie. We go fishing at a few large ponds that have geese that summer there and I always find geese feather which would go perfect with this project. They traditional didn’t use geese feathers, but they’ll do. I did price feathers on Ebay and they aren’t cost effective for me right now. Sorry for deviating from your question but yes, I would love a tutorial to make a dream catcher. I could even see this being used as a wind chime too. Hope you are doing well. Read your post on FB. You’re in my prayers :)

    1. I know what you mean, feathers can be pricey! Geese feathers will totally work! :) Plus I think the whole thing is more personal if you decorate it with things you’ve found rather than purchased. I’m lucky to be able to collect wild peacock feathers around here so I will probably use some of those on future dream catchers. Thank you for thinking of me! :)

      1. Hi Julie. Thanks for writing back! Do you think you might do a tutorial on a dream catcher then? Not a soul commented back. Yet. :( Where do you live that you have found wild peacock feathers? That is really kool! And you’re very welcome! It is the very least I could do :)

        1. Yea, I can for sure do a tutorial! A couple people have emailed me about it too :)

I live about 30 miles south of Los Angeles. There’s a city a few miles from me that has a bunch of wild peacocks. I go for hikes over there and pick up feathers whenever I see them :)

  2. Please, please, please make a tutorial! I know they are simple and I should figure it out myself, but I remember having so much fun making them!!!
