Bike Love: A New Basket Liner!

I got the idea that I should make a bike basket liner that is also a tote bag, because I’m always locking my bike up at the beach and wandering off, having to carry whatever was in the basket. It just makes sense!

Unfortunately, I came to realize that a liner that fits the basket perfectly becomes the most awkward, terrible shaped tote bag. So, back to the drawing board.

Can you see the pom pom trim? I’m happy with that detail! Also, it’s reversible! Now if only I can make it work as a tote bag! I’ll post a tutorial when I figure it out! :)

These leather feather earrings so badly make me wish I wore earrings!

Pretty, pretty beaded bracelets! I used to make so many of these as a kid. This picture makes me wish I still had my loom!

The First of Many Beach Days!

My cousin is visiting for a month, from Atlanta, and I’ve been showing her around. For her first full day here, we went on a long bike ride along the beach! We had churros (the best ones ever!) for lunch while sitting on the pier, watching dolphins.

She also got to see pelicans up close, and sand crabs for the first time.

I got a new iPhone app, called Panorama, that I’ve been obsessed with. Click on any of the pics below to see them full size.

Manhattan Beach.

This was just the first of many beach days to come for us in the next month. We have plans to go kayaking to see seals, tide pooling, and many more bike rides!

My Bike Lust List – Part 2!

About a year ago, I made a post called My Bike Lust List. Well, today I was cruising at the beach and stopped at a bike shop to look for some new handlebar grips. A very pretty bike in the window (an Electra, of course!) caught my eye and I had to look it up online (because I didn’t drool over it enough already when I was at the shop)! I soon discovered that there are three new bikes that need to be added to my lust list!

First up, the bike that caught my eye in the shop, Sugar Skulls! Sugar skulls are hard to not like. They’re skulls and they’re pretty, making them the perfect combination of bad-ass and girly, right?!

This one, called Navajo, popped up while I was searching for Sugar Skulls and I got so excited! It has a very bohemian feel to it, which I love!! I love the designs, the colors, and especially the little tassels hanging from the seat!

I think I actually gasped when I saw this one, called Night Owl! A bike with owls on it?! That’s too much awesome in one place! Blue isn’t really my color but it is very pretty and suits the theme well. I’m loving the little stars and moons as well!

All pictures in this post are linked to where I found them. These bikes are all made by Electra and you can find out more about them here.

‘Tis the season to go biking shopping/wanting, me thinks! What are you lusting after or buying yourself? Do share! :)

Last Insta-Week

It was a slow insta-week for me. I’ve been total hermit, working on these barefoot sandal patterns too much! I have four patterns that I want to release within two weeks! So I gave myself a schedule, complete with daily to-do lists, and I’m sticking to it! :)

The weekly giant pumpkin update + finding new uses for friendship bracelets.

My mom found this bunny that I started several years ago and insisted that I finish it.

I have a new food obsession. The pretzel appetizer at Friday’s. OMG. Best thing ever. Huge soft pretzel sticks with cheesy bacon sauce. I hit them up twice for happy hour within the past 4 days. *obsessed*

Pretty days are for bike rides at the beach! :)
