First of all, I need to apologize that the blog has been down, off and on, for a couple days. Apparently I got a lot more traffic last month than usual and exceeded my bandwidth allowance. I never thought that would happen. Thank you everyone for visiting my blog! It was kind of a happy surprise, even though the site being taken down is an inconvenience. I had a lot of issues with my previous website host and had been meaning to move for months now! So this finally gave me the push I needed to just do it already! Anyway, I apologize if you were trying to access the blog and it wasn’t working. Everything is fixed now and my new host claims that I’m allowed “oodles” of bandwidth, so that shouldn’t be a problem anymore.
Since the site was down during the giveaway, I’m going to extend it so no one misses out. If you haven’t entered yet, go check out this post! I’ll be accepting entries until Midnight on Saturday, August 4th now.
To be fair, I’m also going to extend all current sponsor ads by 3 days, since no one was seeing them while the site was down! Sorry about that! :(

I had a lot of spare time while waiting for all of my files to transfer from one host to another so I made the most of it and redid the star bag to fix the things I didn’t like about it before. It’s a lot bigger now! The first one came out small purse sized and I was actually wanting it to be more of a tote bag. So it’s a much better size now. Having the star up higher looks a lot better when it has stuff in it.
What do you think? Which do you prefer?
I can’t wait to put linings in them and embellish them! :)
I’m finally ready to show you the next pattern I’m working on! I know I said that this would be my first bag pattern, but I’m just not feelin’ it. There’s something about it that I wanna change but I can’t decide what. So I’ve moved on to this bag which I’m pretty happy with! I think it’ll look way better once there’s a liner in it and I also have some ideas for embellishing it so it won’t look so plain. What do you think of it so far?

I came up with a way to add sparkle to any yarn (this is just Lion Brand Cotton Ease and I added the sparkle). I filmed a tutorial video so I can share my technique with you but I still need to edit it.

I’m working on a second one that will be larger. The only thing that I wasn’t happy with on the first one was that it was too small. When I fill it with stuff, the bottom of the star kinda becomes the bottom of the bag, which I don’t want. So I’m adding more rounds to make it bigger. I really want the star centered so it’s still visible when the bag is full.

This is a pair of Gypsy Barefoot Sandals I made as a custom order earlier this week.

My mom actually made this hat, not me! But it’s pretty so I had to show you! It’s a Waffle Cone Slouchy Hat made with Red Heart Curly Q yarn. It’s a really stretchy yarn which is awesome for this hat because it makes it slouch really well!

I love the texture of this yarn and it comes in a couple colors that I really like! I haven’t tried it yet but I’m gonna have to!
I’ve been working sooooo hard on these barefoot sandal patterns! I’ve been getting such a good response to them (thank you so much!!!) and it’s really keeping me motivated to finish them as quickly as possible! I’m hoping to release the first two patterns by the end of this week and the last two early next week.

Today I plan on filming a video tutorial on how to add beads to crochet. There’s a couple methods I’ll show, and one involves that itty bitty black crochet hook up there.

Also on today’s agenda is taking outdoor, on feet photos! I took this one yesterday because this pair matched my nail polish perfectly. And I, for whatever reason, felt the need to change it for the rest of the photos.

Yesterday my internet took a crap and I can’t decide if it was a good thing or not. Without my favorite distraction, I was forced to entertain myself in other ways. This resulted in an explosion of barefoot sandals!

I’ve had so many sketches and ideas in my head. I finally got them all out and either frogged them a dozen times before throwing them into the not gonna happen pile, or decided they were keepers.

Right now I’m kinda unsatisfied with how many of them are triangle shaped. I’m not sure how many triangular styles I’d actually want to publish. They’ve started to seem too similar. Plus I feel like it’s just so typical and expected and have been trying to think of something a little more unique.

What do you think? I love hearing everyone’s input. How many triangle styles are too many? Is there anything else you’d like to see? I heart requests, they inspire me! :)
Here’s a peek at the first pattern I came up with for barefoot sandals. I wore the black ones yesterday and love that they even look good with sandals! They also work with flats (you know, the low cut kind that hardly come to the top of your toe cleavage).

I also bought some new colors yesterday. You have no idea how much joy it brings me to pick out new color combos! omg! :P I’m probably going to design a few different styles before I post any of them.
