New Crochet Pattern: High Tide Skully Hat

It’s about time I finish this pattern, right?! I’m happy to say it’s ready! The High Tide Skully hat! It’s here! Yay! This one can be made as either a regular skully hat or with ear flaps. Either way, it’s a warm hat with a pretty texture that will keep your head cozy on cold days!

The pattern is intended for worsted weight yarn and uses only basic stitches (all single & double crochets). I consider the pattern advanced beginner/intermediate level. The ear flap version is going to be a little trickier than the regular skully version but there are 3 pages of the pattern dedicated to help with the ear flaps. The entire pattern is 9 pages long and includes plenty of photos to help you along. Here’s a peek at what’s inside:

The pattern is available through Ravelry, where you can download it instantly after check out.

 $4.00

Even though it’s a warmer, more cold weather style hat, it makes me think of shells or waves so I had to use something beachy for the name! What do you think? I hope you like it! Also, I’m curious, how many of you will make the ear flap version? I’m not sure if I should make more ear flap styles in the future.

Tutorial: How To Add Your Projects On Ravelry

I’ve had some people tell me that they don’t know how to add their projects on Ravelry, so I’m going to show you how! It’s pretty simple and only takes a few minutes. When you add a project to Ravelry, it will be linked to both the pattern and the yarn you used. Have you ever bought a yarn just because you thought it was pretty but then didn’t know what to do with it? I like to go onto Ravelry, look up the yarn, and see what other people have done with it for inspiration! Plus it’s fun to see what other people have made using the same patterns you have! Not to mention, designers (meeee!) love to see what people have made with their patterns! So if you feel like sharing your projects, here’s how! :)

When you log in to Ravelry, click the “my notebook” tab at the top. This is where all of your projects are stored.

Click on the “add project” button and you’ll be taken to this screen:

You can name your project anything you want (my names are always suuuper creative! :P). “name of pattern” should be the actual name listed on the pattern or in the book, etc. This will help Ravelry link it to the pattern. If you were using a pattern that you bought from someone on Ravlery, one of mine for example, you would choose “website or download” and type “Gleeful Things” as the pattern source. When you click continue, it will take you to this screen:

If the pattern it finds is correct, click “choose this pattern” to go on to the next step.

On this screen, you can fill out as much or as little information as you want. I like to at least add the yarn that I used. I already wrote a blog post about my scarf so I put a link to that post in the notes section. You can also rate the pattern and the yarn by clicking the stars. Click continue when you’re done and the next step will be to add your photos.

Click the “add photos” tab at the top and it will take you to this screen:

Click the “upload from computer” tab and then click “choose files”. Find the pictures on your computer and click “upload”. The photos will appear above and if you have more than one, you can drag them around to rearrange the order they’re in if you want.

And this is what my finished project page looks like! Now it’s linked to the pattern and the yarn. If you were to click where it says “11 projects” under the “about this pattern” section, you’ll be able to see what other people have made using the same pattern! Let me know in the comments, if you have any questions.

Is there anything else you’d like to know how to do on Ravelry? I’d be happy to make more tutorials! :)

Someone asked me if I had any discounts for buying multiple patterns and the answer is yes! I have four deals that are ongoing so I’m going to post them all below. These are not sales, they’re deals that are always available. Sort of like a thank you for buying more than one pattern from me! :)

New Crochet Pattern: Sparkler Bag

The Sparkler Bag pattern is here! I know a lot of you have been anxiously awaiting this one! I really appreciate everyone’s enthusiasm over it and I’m sorry for keeping you waiting for so long! I just wanted to make sure it was the best it could be! I think you’re gonna love it! It’s a really versatile bag. You can line it with fabric and it’ll make a great tote bag or you could leave it unlined and use it as a market bag! You can read all about it & purchase if you’d like below or on Ravelry.

The pattern is intended for worsted weight yarn and like the Sparkler Slouchy Hat, it’ll look awesome with sparkly yarn! It uses only basic stitches (chains, single & double crochets) but I consider it advanced level because the assembly is a little complicated. But don’t worry! I’ve included SO many photos in this pattern to help you with the assembly, you shouldn’t have any problems! Seriously, this is my longest pattern ever and it’s only because I’ve included so many photos to help you along. Here’s a peek at what’s inside the pattern:

SO many photos, right?! I hope that’s not overwhelming to anyone. I just wanted to make everything as clear as possible and sometimes including step by step photos is the only way to go!

The pattern is available through Ravelry, where you can download it instantly after check out.

 $5.00 - Sparkler Bag Pattern

$6.00 - Sparkler Bag & Slouchy Hat Patterns

As I mentioned before, there is a $3 discount if you buy the bag and the matching hat pattern. You do not have to buy them together to get the discount. If you’ve already purchased the hat pattern, you can still get the discount. As long as you have a Ravelry account, it will remember your purchase and will give you the discount when you buy the bag.
