I Painted My Gnome Pink!

I started painting these two little gnomes. I was tempted to paint him normal gnome colors. But he’s mine, so I can make him as strange as I want. So he has a bright pink shirt! He also has bright yellow pants now. But I don’t know if I like them.

I still haven’t finished the three big ones. I dunno why. I really need to paint more! I enjoy it and it’s so relaxing! But I don’t do it enough.

I haven’t really been very into crocheting this week. I was super inspired last week and now I feel burnt out. I went to Michael’s this weekend and fell in love with this yarn called dewdrops! It has such a nice texture and has sequins in it! I really wanted to design a hat with it but it’s $6/skein and I would need two. I try not to whine about how I’m unemployed and can’t afford fun things but I think standing there at Michael’s, realizing I couldn’t afford the yarn was where my train of crochet inspiration derailed.

Rocks + Paint + Crochet

I started working on the rocks I collected from the beach last week. They weren’t really the prettiest rocks so I decided to paint over them before I crocheted over them.

I didn’t intend for them to be so pastel. I can’t help but think of Easter when I see pastels. Not that I have anything against Easter. Pastels just aren’t really my thing. I’m hoping they’re a little bolder after I crochet over them.

Work in Progress

I have a new free amigurumi pattern (it’s a surprise!) ready that I’ve been wanting to post forever but I can’t find the right thing to photograph them in. It’s driving me crazy because I really want to share it already! ahhh!

I made a couple bracelets with some beads I’ve had laying around and I really like them! They have the same sliding closure as my macrame bracelets. I’ve been into stacking bracelets lately. I’ve been wearing one of these with one of my gemstone donut macrame bracelets and a friendship bracelet or two! I wish you could see the colors better. I think my camera is having troubles. It’s been really overexposing things for a couple months at least. :(

I’m making another set of tiny cacti! I think I’m gonna give the little one a nub too.

Remember my faded gnomes? I started repainting them. I need to go out and buy a flesh colored paint. And I’m not sure about the beards. They’re just too bright white.

A day in the life of my Chia Bunny!

I’m so excited about what I’m working on right now! I’ve been saving cans because I was going to make these smashed can pots. But then another idea hit me! I’m really anxious to finish it but I need to make a trip to the craft store for a couple things! :(

Check out my chia bunny! It’s been 10 days since I planted it. I took this pic this afternoon, and I swear it has more sprouts now. Maybe I’m crazy…

Not as crazy as my dog though. This morning (before I started painting, obviously), she discovered the chia pet and she would not stop staring at it! She kept whining at it as if she had seen it move or something. She’s such a weirdo. She used to do this when I had a hamster. It lived on my other desk and whenever she would come into the room, she would stare at the cage and whine.
