My Bike Lust List

I always find myself looking at bikes and bike accessories online. I think part of me wishes I could own a bike shop. Another part of me just wishes that I could own several different bikes because there are so many pretty ones out there! Every time I’m at a bike shop, I always notice the Electra bikes. They’re always the prettiest ones in any shop.

The other day, I was at a bike shop with my friend while she bought some accessories. I noticed this purple bike that I would have taken home with me in a second if I had the money! It’s called Karma:

Karma would definitely be my first choice, but I love these ones also:

If you wanna know more about any of these bikes, check out the Electra website. All of the pics in this post were gathered from various websites/blogs and are linked to their sources. :)

Pretty Camping

So I’ve had this idea for a while that it would be fun to go on a camping trip. But not just any camping trip. I think it would be so fun to totally decorate our camp site and make it fun! Paper lanterns hanging from trees, pretty glowy things, and of course hula hoops! I was searching Flickr for tent decorating inspiration and I came across a pretty floral printed tent. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one like it! So I started looking into what other pretty tents are out there. Here’s some of what I found!

Other People's Camps: Floral Tent. Waxham 2005

The previous two are by designer Cath Kidston. Click the pics for their sources.

The previous two are by designer Celia Birtwell. Click the pics for their sources.

I don’t think any of these are really me, but they are a nice change from the usual solid color tents. I was thinking that it would be fun to make my own tent and it probably wouldn’t be that hard. I had the idea to use a tent I already have as a pattern. I would sew the tent out of whatever pretty fabric I like and then use the original tent’s poles. It would be a fun project!

Favorite Finds

Yesterday, I found a pack of chalk in the dollar section at Target (and got so excited!), so I was inspired to search for awesome and inspiring sidewalk chalk art!

I’d never thought of actually using fancy chalks on sidewalk! I guess it’s the only way you’d get such vibrant colors. Good idea!

I love this idea because it’s something creative you can do with only a few colors!

Someone's Missing

Clever photo idea! :D

Come fly away with me...

I love chalk, it’s one of those childish things that you’re never too old to enjoy (IMO), as long as you have a creative side I suppose!

Have you ever done anything big / impressive / super fun with chalk?

My story isn’t very impressive but I’ll share anyway! When I was in Jr. High, my friend and I snuck onto our school’s playground late at night and drew a giant Jack ball. I have no idea why we wanted to draw that specifically! We didn’t quite get to finish it because a stray German Shepard came out of nowhere and got all in my face, wanting attention. I was so scared that we ran away. I love dogs but I freaked out that he snuck up on us.

Favorite Finds

I discovered Pinterest this week and I’m a little obsessed! So it’s only fitting that I use this week’s Favorite Finds as an excuse to show you a few of my favorite things I’ve found on there so far! :)

This picture makes me so happy! I need to start collecting jars so I can do this someday. I can’t find the original source for this pic, unfortunately :(

crochet trim on pillowcase...

Rose Hip puts pretty pretty crochet edgings on pillow cases! This kinda makes me wanna fancy up my own pillow cases!

I love these colors! This is just too pretty! From Lori Marie.

How cute are these?! Also from Lori Marie.

And I have to show you one thing that’s not from Pinterest, because the kite festival left me a little kite obsessed!

Octopus Kites

This ginormous (12 foot long!) blue octopus is my dream kite! If I ever have an extra $100 to blow, I’m so getting one!

Fave Finds: Watercolor Inspiration

I’ve been searching for watercolor inspiration on Etsy and I found some stuff that I just love! I’m so amazed! I have a lot to learn about watercolors! Be sure to visit these shops to see the paintings larger. The small sizes that I’m posting don’t do them justice!
