Work In Progress: The Fringe Bag!

I’ve been having some frustrations with the fringe bags I’m working on. I started putting together the linings and zippers and when I sew them into the bag, it gets all weird. Kinda twisty like? That’s hard to explain but you can probably tell in the picture below, how the zipper gets all wavy rather than laying flat. I think the solution will be to try one with no lining, just a zipper. The bag really doesn’t need a lining anyway, I just thought it would be pretty.

Another thing I’ve been working on is trying to decide how I want to attach the strap. The first one I did was the green one below. I used little D rings, because I thought it would look nicer. But no matter how I attach the ring, it ends up turning so the pointy end is up. I would have tried O rings if any stores around here had them (I hate ordering supplies online, too impatient). So I ended up just attaching it to the top round on the blue one, which looks a lot nicer I think.

I really want to finish this pattern already! It seems too simple to be taking so long but I’m kind of a perfectionist! :P Anyway, I’m gonna keep working on it and I would love to hear what you think!

Work In Progress: More Fringe Bags!

I’m loving making these fringe bags! Thank you for all of the love you guys left on my last post about them! I always love hearing your feedback on stuff I’m designing.

I had fun shopping for lining fabrics yesterday. I think I’m probably going to make maybe five of these before I post the pattern, just to experiment with different fringe styles and embellishments.

Anyway, sorry for the quick post. I wish I had more to show you but I haven’t had as much time to work on them lately as I’d like to!

Work In Progress: Fringe Purse

I’m onto working on my next pattern now! It’s going to be this fringe purse (I blogged about it once before). What do you think of it so far? It still needs a strap, zipper, and lining. Personally, I don’t really care for the multi-colored one for myself but I’m loving the green one! I’m thinking it needs some embellishments. Beads or studs or something! I need to go shopping and see what catches my attention. Would you use/make this bag?

Work In Progress: Two New Patterns

Here’s a peek at two new patterns I’m working on. I’ve posted this hat a few times because it’s been a work in progress for a while and I’d kinda given up on it. Every time I’ve posted it though, someone always asks me for the pattern so I’m happy to say that I’m finally working on it again! There will be a slouchy, skully, and extra long skully version of it!

This bag has a funny story. My purse broke recently and rather than repairing it, I decided I would just crochet a purse just like it! heh! It’s far from finished though. It will have fringe all around it.

New Crochet Pattern: Sparkler Bag

The Sparkler Bag pattern is here! I know a lot of you have been anxiously awaiting this one! I really appreciate everyone’s enthusiasm over it and I’m sorry for keeping you waiting for so long! I just wanted to make sure it was the best it could be! I think you’re gonna love it! It’s a really versatile bag. You can line it with fabric and it’ll make a great tote bag or you could leave it unlined and use it as a market bag! You can read all about it & purchase if you’d like below or on Ravelry.

The pattern is intended for worsted weight yarn and like the Sparkler Slouchy Hat, it’ll look awesome with sparkly yarn! It uses only basic stitches (chains, single & double crochets) but I consider it advanced level because the assembly is a little complicated. But don’t worry! I’ve included SO many photos in this pattern to help you with the assembly, you shouldn’t have any problems! Seriously, this is my longest pattern ever and it’s only because I’ve included so many photos to help you along. Here’s a peek at what’s inside the pattern:

SO many photos, right?! I hope that’s not overwhelming to anyone. I just wanted to make everything as clear as possible and sometimes including step by step photos is the only way to go!

The pattern is available through Ravelry, where you can download it instantly after check out.
