New Work In Progress: The Heartbeat Slouchy Hat

I published my Heartbeat Skully Hat pattern in January 2013 and fully intended to make a slouchy version too. I suppose it’s about time that I get around to that right?! heh! I’m kinda rolling my eyes at myself for how long this has taken me but I didn’t like how it was working out at first so I set it aside and worked on other patterns. Lots of other patterns. For almost two years… geez. Anyway! This is it. It’s being tested right now and I should have it up for sale in the first week of December.

I couldn’t decide on how slouchy to make it so I’m giving you two options. First I made the black/gray one but it’s more slouchy than I like so I made the green one less slouchy. I think I tend to like my slouchy hats, not suuuper slouchy but from the feedback I’ve gotten from people who have used my patterns, it seems like some want more slouch!

What do you think? How much slouch do you like in your slouchy hats?

I was excited to get to try two new (to me) yarns for this hat! Elegant Yarns Kaleidoscope in Cheesecake & Cascade 220 in Cedar Green. Originally I intended to use the Cascade 220 with a different multi-color yarn and for a different project but it ended up in my yarn basket next to the Kaleidoscope and I thought they looked perfect together! I have so much of both left though, I need to make something else with them. I’m thinking maybe my Peachy Arm Warmers.

  1. Oh my goodness, that’s beautiful! I can’t wait for the pattern so I can try it out myself! I’ve been a bit obsessed with making slouchy hats lately, and I love your patterns =)
