Crochet Essentials: My Favorite Yarns

I haven’t had a chance yet to write full reviews for as many yarns as I’d like to so I wanted to put together a list to share my go-to yarns. I definitely have favorites that I buy over and over. So here goes! These are my most used yarns:

♥ Red Heart Soft YarnCaron Simply SoftPremier Ever Soft & Bernat Satin (worsted weight): These are my favorite worsted weight yarns for when I want something soft, shiny and colorful. They all offer a lot of pretty colors!

♥ Lion Brand Heartland (worsted weight): This one is sorta new to me but I know I’m going to be using it a lot! It’s another soft yarn that I really like and my favorite thing about it is that the colors are more earthy, less bright and colorful than the previous four. To me, that makes it a lot more wearable since I tend to not wear bright colors. I used this for my Pinecone Cowl pattern.

♥ Caron Simply Soft PartyRed Heart Shimmer (worsted weight): These are my two favorite sparkle yarns. Party is like regular Simply Soft but with sparkle! Shimmer I like because it’s soft but not shiny. I love Party for amigurumi but prefer Shimmer for wearable items. I used Party for my Bearies pattern & Shimmer for my Sparkler Slouchy Hat pattern.

♥ Lion Cotton & Bernat Handicrafter Delux (worsted weight): These are my go-to cottons. They’re not the cheapest but I prefer them because the colors are much more bold and vivid and they’re a bit softer.

♥ Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable (worsted weight): I don’t use many multi-color yarns but this is one that I just love! It’s so soft so it’s perfect for wearable items. I used this for my Mountains Cowl pattern.

Premier Deborah Norville Serenity Garden (sport weight): This is another multi-color yarn that I’m crazy about! I love the lighter weight and the softness! You can read my full review on this one here.

♥ Premier Deborah Norville Serenity Sock Yarn & Loops & Threads Woolike (sock weight): These are my two favorite sock yarns because they come in solid colors! Woolike is great because it’s soft and not wool at all! I also like the Serenity Sock Yarn for it’s softness, it’s partially wool but softer than other wool sock yarns. I used both of these for my Swell Leg Warmers pattern.

Bernat Vicki Howell Cotton-ish (DK weight): This is my favorite for bikinis! It’s a good weight and soft. I love the color palette too!

Lion Brand Hometown USA (bulky weight): My favorite bulky yarn because it holds up better over time (doesn’t get horribly fuzzy) than other bulky yarns I’ve tried. I also like that it’s 100% acrylic, soft, and cheap! I used this for the Waffle Cone Slouchy Hat pattern.

What are your favorite yarns that you always have in your stash?
