Work In Progress: Fringe Purse

I’m onto working on my next pattern now! It’s going to be this fringe purse (I blogged about it once before). What do you think of it so far? It still needs a strap, zipper, and lining. Personally, I don’t really care for the multi-colored one for myself but I’m loving the green one! I’m thinking it needs some embellishments. Beads or studs or something! I need to go shopping and see what catches my attention. Would you use/make this bag?

  1. This pattern looks like a lot of fun! These swingy clutches will be perfect for spring and summer. I’m with you on liking the solid color one more. It seems to show off the fringe better. Beads will definitely add a nice touch too! :)

  2. As much as I love the color green, I’m really liking the multi color ! Even though I’m not a big fan of pinks. I would recommend using cotton yarn for this kind of project. Thats what i use to crochet cluches and certain small hand bags. Peaches and Cream and especially Sugar and Cream have some pretty amazing cotton yarns. S&c have lots of ombré s and you would love their “Twists” line.mi would defiantly make these bc I already do… But yours are really cure with the fringe .. I wound even try doing the fringe at an angle .. Ya know? Like so it comes down to a point…. Or even asymmetical fringe that just goes from short to long… Anyway, I’m excited to see what you come up with.

    1. I always like cotton yarns for bags too. It just seems more sturdy! The multicolored one is Sugar and Cream and the green one is Lion cotton. I was kinda thinking what you said with doing the fringe at an angle! I like that idea! I’m going to make a couple more to see what I can come up with! :)

  3. YES! Absolutely LOVE both versions and would use it, make it for gifts, etc…
Can’t wait for it to be available! Thank you!

  4. I think adding beads will really punch up the look of this darling clutch, maybe add some to the strap as well? It would look great in a glitter yarn as well, for fancy clutch.

  5. Oh gosh, I would make this! Bring back the fringe purses. I remember they were popular in the 70s

  6. Those bags are very cute!! I actually like the multicolored one! Maybe some small beads at the bottom of the fringe would look good. Or maybe put a few beads at the top and tie a knot in the string so they will stay at the top.

  7. I love the bags–and I’d definitely make them. They’d be great, if a little bigger, for a nice day out purse, or the same size as a clutch. Also–I’d make a wool one, so I could felt the base first (it helps keep my stuff inside, since my pen sometimes pokes a hole in the lining!)

  8. i think that would look awesome as a clutch!! i wouldn’t put a strap on it, maybe one of those little hoops on the side to put over your wrist? the green one is very pretty!

  9. I think with a cool black yarn or grey it would be a good night look For going out. It would be interesting to see a multicolor bag with solid fringe
