Pattern Testers Wanted

Guess what? The star design is also going to be available as a hat! And I need a few people to test it! Interested?

About the pattern
This is an intermediate level pattern that uses only basic crochet stitches and techniques. You’ll need 1 ball of light worsted weight yarn & a size G crochet hook.

What is pattern testing?
Testing involves trying out the pattern and letting me know if you run into any typos or have any problems. I’m looking for someone who can be really critical! This is important. In the past I’ve had too many people tell me a pattern was perfect and then had other people testing the same pattern find obvious errors, etc. Please only apply if you’re really interested in offering constructive criticism.

How to apply
Please leave a comment on this post including the following:

1. Link me to your Ravelry/blog/Flickr or somewhere that I can see a few things you’ve made
2. Do you have Word or a program that lets you edit .DOC files?
3. I’d like to have testing completed by Saturday the 18th. Is that doable for you?

I’ll contact you within 48 hours, by email if I choose you as a tester.

Please don’t email me about this! Just comment on this post. Thank you! :)

If you go to my blog Aug 2009 there’s a pattern I made myself, and Jan 2010 has a blessing dress I made from a pattern, lastly Aug 2011 has a silly frogy hat I made my baby. I’ve done much much more than that but I don’t tend to post my creations. I love this hat though and would really like the chance to help you critique the pattern. I do have word and I could definatly whip that out by Sept if the pattern is workable. If it’s not and I have difficulty at all, I will let you know quickly.
    Thanks for considering me.

I also have a small etsy shop at etsy.com/Gabli with products I whip up as I watch tv- no patterns just the old noodle noggin. I would love to be a pattern tester for you for this hat.

Thank you for the chance to test your hat, I LOVE stars!

  37. Hi Julie I would be delighted to test your pattern. I am not frightened to be critical (I wrote a pretty harsh crochet book review not so long ago). I am craftgirl78 across the web, including Ravelry, Flickr, Picasa web albums and I have a recent version of Word as well as Libre Office (I do prefer Linux to Windows, but I use both). I dabble a little in designing, but not apparel (I tend to stick to amigurumi design work).

I loved your Waffle Cone Slouchy Hat pattern and my step-daughter loves the hat itself!

I look forward to hearing from me, should you find me suitable.

  38. Cynthia says:

  41. Paige says:

I am hoping that I linked my Ravelry into the “website” spot correctly. I would LOVE to pattern test this hat!! I’ve been looking for various things with stars to make my bestie :P I can make it tomorrow if you can get the pattern to me that quickly. I also do understand that you may have tons of pattern testers already. So if that is the case I would love to know approximately when this pattern will be available! Thanks so much!! Love your designs!

Just in case I did not link my projects page correctly… On Ravelry I am Paige524 from California. I did make your Slouchy Waffle Cone Hat recently and I also have the Pineapple Coconut Hat in my queue :)

  42. phoebe says:

hi…i really like your works…. i also want to know how to do it…=)

  43. Anna Crocker says:

I would love to test any of your patterns.

  44. BarbaraAnn Couturier says:

I enjoy both crocheting and knitting. I do not have an album set up of patterns that I have tested. I belong to a yahoo group called atmyhouse, and if you go to the home page, the pattern of the month is there. I have tested that pattern for the owner, and it was a difficult pattern to figure out, but I did it. And I am not afraid to tell you that it needs to be worded differently for someone to know wshat you mean. I have tested hats, doilies, dishcloths, pot holders, napkin rings, dishsoap dresses, scarves and shawls, and probably other items that have slipped my mind for the present. I could send you some individual pictures if you like.

    Thanks,
    Barb
