Ears! Work in Progress

I finally started working on something that I’ve been wanting to make for months now! I found these Pooh bear ears at Disneyland back in November. They inspired me to make my own, other types of ears.

A few days ago, I finally gathered up my fur fabrics and started drawing up patterns. After a few sets of almost perfect ones, I finally got it right! All of the ones in the picture below are sorta rejects. But not as horrible as the ones that I threw away.

Here’s a crappy webcam shot of my favorite ones:

I was messing with Hipstamatic and accidentally took this really creepy shot. I was actually smiling but not that you’d ever know! :P

And now, I’m going to bombard you with adorable photos that serve as inspiration for the next set I’m going to make!

Monorail Koala?

Ok, I’m done now! :D

Bracelet Makin!

I’ve been busy working on another bulk order of macrame bracelets.  These American Girl brand beads are so colorful!

I’ve recently discovered brush on Krazy Glue. It’s pretty much the best thing ever. Gel Krazy Glue on the other hand, not so much…

Long time no see!

Hi there! It’s been a while… Anyone still reading this? I’ve been bad. I haven’t written since January :/

I’ve been wanting to blog but I hated my old blog style so much! So I gave it a new look, which I’m super happy with! And hopefully I’ll be back to writing here on a regular basis now.  I have a lot of things planned. New patterns, tutorials, give-aways, etc.

Here are some new amigurumi patterns that I’ve been working on lately:

Yesterday, I was pleasantly surprised to find a Joann’s giftcard in my purse that I didn’t know I had. So I went yarn shopping today. Here is a little yarn porn for you:

That’s all for now! :)

Work in Progress

Work in progress
This is what a really productive weekend looks like for me! Yarn everywhere! The more productive I am, the bigger this pile gets! lol! I normally work on multiple projects at once, going back and forth as inspiration strikes. Click the picture to see the notes I made on Flickr, it shows what’s what.

I just finished photographing stuff and I’m about to list several new things on Etsy so check back soon! :)

Is it done yet?

Unfortunately, no. I have to admit, when I started the new website, I thought it would take a couple weeks, maybe. But Zen Cart is more complicated to install than I ever imagined. In addition to that, I got a second job a couple weeks ago so that’s sorta been cutting into my time that I’d normally spend working on the site.

So is it almost done yet? It’s so close it hurts. If by any chance anyone reading this is a Zen Cart expert and would be willing to help me troubleshoot a little, I’d be happy to hook you up with free stuff or custom make something for you!

I have several crochet patterns that I’ve been working on. And I’ve also been trying to get some Amigurumis made for the shop. Here’s a couple work in progress shots:

There's a big batch of cupcakes in the works

There’s a big batch of cupcakes in the works. Moldy Cupcakes that is..

I’ve also been designing some plushies. I want to sell patterns for them in the future but I’m not sure how far off that is right now.

That’s all for now.

Love & purple koalas.

New Blog!!

Hiiiiii! I’m Julie and I’ll be your blogger this evening afternoon. I’m the designer behind all the creatures at Gleeful Things (.com). Incase we’ve never met, hiii! :)

I’m in the midst of setting up a new store powered by Zencart. Which I have to say is one of the most frusterating, complicated things I’ve ever installed. I have a feeling that it was written for people who potentially could have written it themselves. Needless to say, I’m not one of them! heh! But it’s coming along and will be well worth all the frusteration. When it’s done, you’ll be able to instantly download your patterns rather than having to wait for me to send them to you. Less work for me + instant gratification for you = yay!

And of course there’ll be some new patterns available! I make a lot of hats so I decided I would start selling those patterns in addition to my amigurumis. Here’s some teaser, work in progress pics:

My favorite hat Hat pattern

And if you’re not into hats, don’t worry! I have some amigurumis in the works too :)

Love & Dr. Pepper,
